Two Steps to Showing Commitment in Your Executive MBA Application

An essential element of your executive MBA application (and most other school-specific applications) is demonstrating commitment to the program. For EMBA programs, commitment requires the ability to meet the demands of the EMBA along with your other responsibilities.

Completing these two steps in your application enables you to demonstrate that commitment

  1. Show knowledge of the program.
  2. Reveal what you will do or change to ensure that you can excel in a part-time program while working full time.

Sounds easy? Or not so easy? Using the Chicago Booth Executive MBA application #1 as an example, I provide details in the video below.

Defense, togetherness, focus drive No. 1 Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — As gaudy as that 22-0 record is for top-ranked Ohio State, the Buckeyes aren’t thinking they possess a secret formula that no one else has.

“We haven’t found something that hasn’t been found before,” coach Thad Matta said with a chuckle on Wednesday. “That’s for sure.”

Heading into a home game on Thursday night against rival Michigan, the Buckeyes (22-0, 9-0 Big Ten) have matched the second-best start in the program’s 112 years. A win over the Wolverines (13-9, 3-6), and the only standard left is the 27-0 run by the 1961-62 Buckeyes of Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek.

The current Buckeyes have won big, like in an 87-64 rout of then-No. 12 Purdue last week. Boilermakers coach Matt Painter said after that landslide, “We got five or six calls in the second half that were mercy calls. It really should have been about 30 or 40 points (difference).”

They’ve also won tight games, such as Saturday’s 58-57 escape at Northwestern on Saturday.

Study Schedule

I’m back! This time, I come with advice . . . create a study schedule for yourself! Like I said last time, I have continued to follow my study schedule for the ACT. Without this schedule, I found it very difficult to get motivated to study for a test that is still months away. However, as schoolwork and athletics require even more of my time, I am very happy I have started to prepare already. I would certainly recommend creating a study schedule for all those preparing for the ACT.

SpongeBob and a Snow Day.

The Evil Spawn has a plan.

She wants me to repaint her playroom on our next Snow Day (as always, capitalized out of respect).

When we moved to our new house, she was just starting kindergarten. It was a no brainer to paint her favorite cartoon character on the wall of her playroom.

In what seems like 10 minutes later, she is headed towards 5th grade and junior high.

She’s ready to change the wall.

I’m not so sure.

In her mind, this is a big step towards growing up.

In my mind, this is a big step away from her being a little girl.

Bye, SpongeBob.

Hello… I’m not quite sure.

A picture of the new wall will be coming soon. Check the weather.
